Betty Taylor, Director

Betty Taylor is married to Dennis Taylor of 37 years. We have owned and managed Dennis Taylor & Company, a construction equipment rental company and Tayco Contractors, a utility contracting company for 35 years. Prior to owning Dennis Taylor and Company, I was in Commercial Property Management and continue to assist with the management of numerous commercial/residential properties the family owns. After working in the family business full time and raising two daughters, Sabrina and Alicia, I found it challenging to find some time for volunteer work in the community. Our company had performed a lot of work at the Georgia Retardation Home in Chamblee/Dunwoody area for many years prior to its closing the doors. I attended and supported the Hi-Hope Gala for a number of years and decided that would be a great place to do some volunteer work. What started out to be a few volunteer hours in 2000, has given me many hours and years of blessings thru interaction with board members, staff, and clients of Hi-Hope. I have several friends with children who have various disabilities, and who will perhaps some day benefit from the services at Hi-Hope.

I have always been active and have found time and energy to serve in many areas within my church. I have served as an Officer, Elder, and are currently serving on the Finance Committee and Personnel Committee. I was Chair of the Retirement Committee of our “One Year Retirement Celebration” for our Pastor who retired in 2008 (which involved 4 major events), and served as Co-Chair of the Construction Committee during the major expansion in 2002-2005. I was named “Presbyterian Woman of the Year” in 2002. I am an active member of the Presbyterian Circle of Women, and a member of the Flower Guild. I am an avid gardener and a member of the Stonehedge Garden Club.

In my spare time I love to enjoy my home at the beach, spending time at our home in the mountains, and traveling abroad. Any spare time I have you will find me enjoying my granddaughter, Bella and my grandson, Wade. I also love shopping and traveling with my “girlfriends”.
