David Bernhardt, Director

1976 Graduate of the University of Georgia, BBA. Married, 3 children, one of whom has worked with Hi-Hope while in high school and college, inspiring her to seek an advanced degree in non-profit management. My wife, Carol, has served on the Hi-Hope Board, as did her late parents, Doug and Reba Edwards. Reba was Board President for several years from the late 1980’s until her death in 1994. I have served as a board member since 2001, including two terms as Board President. My other interests include golf and fishing.

I spent 17 years in various management and marketing positions with Snapper Power Equipment in McDonough, Georgia, leaving in 1994 to join a local advertising agency. From 1996 until present, my various experiences include owning my own Marketing Consulting Firm, serving as Interim Director of Hi-Hope Service Center from November 1999 though August 2001, and currently I am a principal of Advanced Solution 3000, Inc,. We operate nationalblindstore.com, one of the larges online retailers of window coverings in the United States. My time as Hi-Hope Interim Executive Director allows me to offer a perspective on the center’s operations that other board members do not have.

To have the responsibility as a board member to make decisions that directly contribute to the achievement of the dreams and goals of our clients is a most rewarding life changing experience.
